Personal experience is the best indication of whether or not something is of the light. I started receiving teachings within The Modern Mystery School lineage in 2005. I had no attachment to the process, and I had doubts that it would create any positive results. But I was at a place in my life where the only direction I could go was up. I was depressed, I quit my job, moved to a new city. I knew there was more to life, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was.
I received a couple of healing sessions and took a two-day class called Empower Thyself. I didn’t realize then that the energy transfer of the initiation would forever change the course of my life for the better. After six months my family noticed a drastic change in me and asked, “what are you doing differently?” So I told them and my parents and siblings signed up to receive the same healings and class that I did. They saw the change in me and said, “I want that!”.
Experience is the best indication of whether or not something holds light. If you don’t try it – how will you ever know?
I saw results and people around me noticed. I shared my experience with anyone who asked. That is how light spreads. I began creating a community of like-hearted people who wanted to expand and reach more of their potential. As a result of my direct experience, the Modern Mystery School in Minneapolis grew. I have dedicated my life to being part of the solution. I am able to help people who can’t figure out what it is – perhaps stuck or blocked or curious about their next steps and seeking clarity.
Misconceptions about The Modern Mystery School
Some misunderstand The Modern Mystery School. Others think it’s new age fluff. But it’s not. It’s actually based on ancient Hermetics, shamanism and alchemy. It’s rooted in history and it actually works. Some question if it’s a scam. To that I say, how can it be a scam if it yields results? Thousands of people who have worked with my colleagues all over the US and the world have great things to say about it. Seeing is believing, but if you never try it for yourself how would you ever know?
Some question if it is a cult. How could that be if it’s based on the principle of self-knowledge and self-based leadership? Some wonder if it’s voodoo or psychic mind control. Really? It’s not. It’s based on free will and choice. The goal is to help you have less mind clutter, let go of negative thought patterns holding you back and evolve into the light of who you are. This article, The Truth about the Modern Mystery School: Cult or Community of Lightworkers? brings clarity to the accusations of the Modern Mystery School being a cult.
What blocks the light? Opinions, judgment, negative thoughts, worry or concern without having any knowledge about that person’s reality is completely blocking the light.
If what the Modern Mystery School is doing is not of the light, then why have hundreds of people benefited directly from what I am able to offer them and thousands of people around the world who have worked with the Modern Mystery School over the past 20+ years? The truth is, what we offer works because it is part of a holy lineage that has been held sacred for thousands of years. It is ancient and yet it works for modern times. It’s not fluff or fake. It takes free choice to receive the teachings and then effort to apply it in your life.
The majority of people find me from word of mouth. Referrals are what bring people to me. That speaks volumes of the work that I do in the Modern Mystery School lineage.
In response to the UK tabloid style write-up about Money, Sex and Exploitation
The Modern Mystery School does not exploit people for money. It is not a sex cult. Do I really need to say that? Well, yes, I do.
Recently, a tabloid style article published by a source in the UK attempted to mock The Modern Mystery School lineage and expose it as a cult. Dramatic claims were made about the founder, Gudni Gudnason, and a lineage holder, Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon as power hungry, cult leaders.
This is completely opposite of anything that I know to be true. This story narrative must have been pre-determined and then the writer will begin crafting a story based on key messages that will sell: Sex. Power. Money. Exploitation.
I should know! I used to work in the television industry. Pick a storyline and run with it. Insert quotes that are in alignment with the storyline. Publish it as truth. Purposely omit any other facts that would interfere with the strength of the storyline. Spin it in a way that will accomplish your viewpoint. The more screwed up something is the higher it will rate.
And now, here I am, having worked closely with the Modern Mystery School since 2005.
My personal experience with the Modern Mystery School
I can speak from my personal experience and say I have had opposite experiences in the Modern Mystery School.
The first time I met Gudni Gudnason, the founder of the mystery school, was in 2007. I was there to receive a healing session from one of his colleagues. He was walking through the hallway on his way to a classroom and stopped to talk to me. I shared that after being sick for several years, I still didn’t have an answer from specialists, doctors, acupuncturists or natural paths. I was literally trying everything possible, and I was losing hope. He listened with compassion. He took time out of his schedule to talk to me when he had no other reason to other than he was being a good person.
He listened with pure acceptance. He didn’t offer empty promises or claim he could “fix me” like so many professionals had. He offered me an opportunity to attend an upcoming training at no cost. No, this was not a way to take advantage of me. That thought never crossed my mind. I wasn’t asking for a handout. He wanted nothing in return but to help me because he felt it was the right thing to do. Maybe he sensed that I was going to use what I gained from that training to heal myself and from that experience I would be able to help others. There were no strings attached. And I have known him and trained closely with him from that day forward.
Since then, I have paid the full price for all of the trainings as I understand it’s an energy exchange just like anything else. It’s something I value and see results from. I actually want to pay for it just as I would for any other service. I have never gone into debt for any of my trainings. I also have committed to helping others and when appropriate I will pay it forward as he generously did for me.
The Mystery School is not a cult. It is a pathway to knowing yourself and creating your own reality. If I could have done it by myself reading self-help books I would have. But that didn’t get me results. If I could have healed myself by giving my power away to doctors and specialists, I would have. But it wasn’t in the cards for me. What I needed after trying what seemed like EVERYTHING ELSE was to actually invest in myself, peel back the layers, and dig into what was actually causing me to be sick.
The Modern Mystery School helped me heal physically as a result of using the outside-of-the box approach of ancient knowledge, and tools that helped me reach more of my potential.
My personal experience with Dave Lanyon, one of the lineage holders in the Mystery School:
I met Ipsissimus Dave when he began leading the Modern Mystery School several years ago. Here is what I know first-hand about his character. He has dedicated his life to helping people succeed with a focus on getting over personal fears and self-limiting beliefs. He is family centered. He treats being a parent as his number one job, and yet he is motivated to help all children. He doesn’t want to see any child suffer. He and his wife Franca have made significant financial contributions to battered women’s shelters specifically allocating the funds to helping children have joy while being in a state of uncertainty.
He offers straight-forward, to the point, accurate advice. It often includes reminding me that I am not a victim of my circumstances. I am an architect of my reality. He tells me plain and simple, “Be a Goddess.” In other words, he reminds me that I am powerful.
It is by our actions that we are known in the world. The world is a better place by the completion of our life’s work.
To the author who wrote it: you do not have my permission to walk through my mind with your dirty feet. Your words are not anchored in my reality. I wish I could get back the time that I spent reading the 70+ pages. But I am thankful for the time I have spent reflecting on my direct experience with the Modern Mystery School. It has been time well spent.
You raise a very good point about how media works…something to think about, for sure!
